TERBUTALINE is a bronchodilator. It helps open up the airways in your lungs to make it easier to breathe. This medicine is used to treat the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema. They need to know if you have any of the following conditions:

• diabetes
• heart disease
• high blood pressure
• irregular heartbeat
• seizures

• breast-feeding

How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.

What may interact with this medicine?

Do not take this medicine with any of the following:

• cocaine
• MAOIs like Carbex, Eldepryl, Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate
• probucol
• procarbazine

This medicine may also interact with the following:

• heart medicines
• medicines for colds or breathing difficulties
• medicines for high blood pressure
• some medicines for mental depression or sleep
• stimulants

• muscle cramps
• seizures

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):

• anxious, nervous
• drowsy
• headache
• nausea
• sweating
• tremor
